Big Groove Promotions was established by Helen Smith and Emma More in 2001 and developed more fully as a solo enterprise from 2004 onwards.  Big Groove have now carried out workshops all over Scotland for a wide variety of clients, events and agencies.

Helen Smith began drumming with Glasgow womens drumming group SheBoom in 1995.  She has played numerous gigs with the band all over the UK and in Europe including the Stonewall Equality Show in the Royal Albert Hall, the Graham Norton Show, and a number of festivals in Spain, Portugal, Bavaria and Slovenia.  By 1998 Helen was teaching SheBoom regularly and also writing music for the band.  Although Helen bid farewell to SheBoom in October 2008 she still continues to lead Barulho Beat in Glasgow and Samba Fusion in Newton Stewart.
